| On Friday, August 14th, your Level Green Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of a new 2026 Pierce fire engine. After a long late-night effort of transferring equipment and hose, the engine entered service. The engine even managed to get a first response on Friday night, responding on an ambulance assist call. This engine has a 1,500 gallon per minute pump and carries 750 gallons of water allowing for firefighting to begin before we have established a hydrant water supply. This apparatus also carries about 1,000 feet of attack hose line and 1,200 feet of large diameter hose for water supply use. The cab seats six firefighters. We are extremely proud of this new apparatus, and you'll be seeing it responding to emergency calls. This new engine replaces a 2013 Spartan/Precision that suffered unrepairable damage while responding during a night storm in March. This fire engine replacement was a significant unexpected expense for our department. The officers and members of the Level Green Volunteer Fire Department sincerely appreciate the community's support, and we ask that if your situation allows, please be extra generous to our fund raising efforts. Thank you! |
