Join the Level Green Volunteer Fire Department (LGVFD) Today!

The Level Green Volunteer Fire Department (LGVFD) is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Active Members. We are looking for men and women, 18 years of age or older, who are in good physical condition and can spare a few hours to serve their community. As a member of the LGVFD, you will have the opportunity to respond to a variety of emergencies, including structure fires, brush fires, vehicle accidents, and certain medical emergencies.

• Comprehensive Training: We provide all necessary training, which can be tailored to fit your schedule with minimal disruption to your daily life. Training sessions and drills are typically held on Tuesday evenings, but we need help around the clock.
• Flexibility: We understand that our members have commitments to family, work, and other obligations. While we encourage participation, we only ask that you make a reasonable effort to assist whenever you can.
• Rewarding Experience: Volunteering with the LGVFD offers a unique and fulfilling way to serve your community, develop new skills, and be part of a team dedicated to public safety.

Opportunities for Junior Firefighters

We also offer opportunities for young men and women aged 15 to 18 to join the LGVFD as Junior Firefighters. Junior Firefighters receive training and orientation to assist in responding to fires and other emergencies. However, they are not permitted to enter burning buildings for their safety. Participating as a Junior Firefighter can also help fulfill community service requirements.

Additional benefits for Junior Firefighters include a tuition waiver at Westmoreland County Community College and the possibility of live-in arrangements near various colleges in exchange for volunteering. For more information, please call, email, or stop by the station.

Join the Auxiliary Team

Not everyone who supports the LGVFD has to respond to emergencies. Our Auxiliary team provides essential support to ensure that the fire department operates smoothly. The Auxiliary assists in raising funds, organizing community events, and performing other non-emergency activities that are crucial to our mission. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM.

We welcome individuals with diverse skills and talents who want to contribute behind the scenes. Your involvement with the Auxiliary can make a significant difference in our ability to protect the community.
